General Manager - Logistics

Concorde is the logistics provider for Bensons for Beds and Harveys Furniture in the UK.  We have 7 Distribution Centres, with our largest being at Magna Park, Lutterworth.   Within Magna Park warehouse and distribution, we have over 270+ staff rising to 450+ during our peak trading.  As well as a home delivery centre, Magna Park is also a national distribution centre, servicing our other home delivery sites.  Joining the Concorde Team in Magna would enable you to start a career within an established successful business.

We are currently looking for a General Manager at Magna Park, to take responsibility for all aspects of Warehouse, Transport, Health and Safety and Facilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing individual with a service, quality, cost and continuous improvement ethic.

Key Responsibilities for the General Manager:

  • Management and development of all warehouse operations.
  • Management and development of home delivery and inter-site transport operations.
  • Health and Safety.
  • Facilities Management.
  • Development of staff to create succession plans, and high performing teams and individuals.
  • Developing relationships with agency providers to ensure the site has the capability to flex without deterioration in performance during peak trading.
  • Compliance to all Group Audit processes.
  • Compliance to all Warehouse Management System processes.
  • Management of stock integrity, minimising seepage in all its forms.
  • Full P&L responsibility, financial budgeting, cost control, and exceeding delivered sales targets.
  • Management of key relationships with other sites and functions, particularly Retail, Commercial, Supply Chain and Finance.

The experience that we are looking for in our General Manager:

  • Our ideal candidate will have successfully managed large scale FMCG operations in the retail sector.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering world class service and possess exceptional change management skills.
  • Have a solid record of problem solving and analytical skill to be able to identify issues and deliver solutions to a variety of operational challenges;
