Our Company

Bensons for Beds and Harveys Furniture have 5 Distribution Centres in the UK, with our second largest being in Huncoat, Accrington. Within the Warehouse and we have over 100+  Warehouse staff rising to 150+ during our peak trading. Joining the Team in Huncoat would enable you to start a career within an established successful business.

We are currently looking for a Operations Manager at Huncoat, to take responsibility for all aspects of Warehouse.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing individual with a service, quality, cost and continuous improvement ethic.


Key Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:

  • Management and development of all warehouse operations.
  • Health and Safety.
  • Facilities Management.
  • Development of staff to create succession plans, and high performing teams and individuals.
  • Developing relationships with agency providers to ensure the site has the capability to flex without deterioration in performance during peak trading.
  • Compliance to all Group Audit processes.
  • Compliance to all Warehouse Management System processes.
  • Management of stock integrity, minimising seepage in all its forms.
  • Full P&L responsibility, financial budgeting, cost control, and exceeding delivered sales targets.
  • Management of key relationships with other sites and functions, particularly Retail, Commercial, Supply Chain and Finance.

What we are looking for

The experience that we are looking for in our Operations Manager:

  • Our ideal candidate will have successfully managed large scale warehouse operations in the retail sector, with staff of 150+
  • Have a proven track record of delivering world class service and possess exceptional change management skills.
  • Have a solid record of problem solving and analytical skill to be able to identify issues and deliver solutions to a variety of operational challenges;
